VOCPRI - the Volunteer Organization of CPRI - was established in 1969 as a registered charity.  A group of highly motivated volunteers joined together to raise funds for a Parent's Live-In Project, which became known as Glenhurst Lodge (now known as Oakwood House).  The first fundraiser was the "Operation Bookmark" used book sale in May of 1969.  This project was successful in raising money as well as community awareness of CPRI and it's function.

Operation Bookmark

During the years that followed, the Volunteer Organization of CPRI has continued to raise funds and contribute to many special projects, big and small.  Many successful fundraisers included the "Nite at the Ritz" Dinner and Fashion Show, the Grand Theatre Benefit Performance, Education Workshops and more.  Since VOCPRI is volunteer-lead, approximately 98% of every dollar raised goes directly into funding special needs of the children and youth at CPRI, as well as programs and services.

Forty years later, VOCPRI continues to raise funds with the "Operation Bookmark" used book sale and has designated the $15, 000 raised in 2008 to renovate the Oakwood House .
